How you can make your mark
You can make your mark as a Trainee if you want to learn, encounter and experience a lot in a short period of time. As a Trainee you will be part of the tendering-, engineering- or operational phase of a Dredging or Offshore Energy project. Examples of projects you might contribute to are the port development project Tuas Terminal Finger Pier 3 in Singapore or the Kincardine floating wind farm project in Scotland.
During the tendering- and engineering phase you will act as a Trainee Engineer and translate client requirements to optimal economic proposals, technical designs and work methods. Naturally, you manage the proposed solution to be competitive, ‘fit for purpose’ with regards to engineering and completed within the given timeframe.
During the operational phase of a project, you will work as a Trainee Superintendent or Trainee Project Engineer. It’s your task to make the necessary preparations for a project to start. You will, together with your colleagues, supervise and manage the project work, ensuring that high-quality work is delivered in time. Our fleet consists of around 900 vessels and pieces of machinery; assets you will work closely with in the operational phase. In the role of Trainee Superintendent there is a good chance you will be flying out to work on a multidisciplinary project.
Your work environment depends on the project.
- Committed to an Offshore Energy project, you will be located at our head office in Papendrecht. You might spend longer consecutive periods onboard of a vessel.
- Assigned to a Dredging project, you will work on location for six weeks at a stretch. After, you will have four weeks of leave.
As a Trainee you will be exposed to assignments/projects in both Dredging and Offshore Energy.
