Are you ready to work with Aegon colleagues from all over the world, bring together all their customer experience Best Practices, organize some of Aegon’s biggest events and gain new skills? Then this might be the perfect challenge for you!

Who will be your new colleagues at Customer Strategy?

The Customer Strategy team (part of the Strategy & Sustainability department) is located at the international Aegon Corporate Center in The Hague and aims to bring together people and insights on anything related to the experience of customers, advisors and workplace customer (B2B2C). The team is responsible for generating global customer foresights/direction to all our business units around the world. We do so through Net Promoter Score and other customer research and insights, we perform maturity scans on customer topics, and we help business units design differentiated customer experiences, for example through Best Practice Sharing. Furthermore, we foster behavioral change in country units, e.g. through our two main annual events: the ‘Customer Strategy Campus’ where we share knowledge and inspiration, and the ‘Aegon Global Awards’ where we celebrate our customer successes.

Your internship in a nutshell

We are looking for a student who is creative, entrepreneurial, outgoing and who likes to work and communicate with people from all over the world. You will be working closely with our team as well as with the event & communication teams on ongoing projects. Your main challenge during your internship will be on making our brand new Customer Experience (CX) Hub a success (managing our international CX community by building, maintaining and endorsing our new digital CX knowledge hub consisting of CX best practices, tools and methodologies).

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Being editor-in-chief of our quarterly newsletter (“The Customer Obsession E-zine") and deliver quarterly performance reports on this;
  • Organizing global events, e.g. the Customer Strategy Campus and Aegon Global Awards
  • Creating and visualizing CX business content with e.g., Office and Adobe programs;
  • Supporting other activities within our department
  • Managing and adapting software tools to the needs of Aegon (e.g. AwardForce)

During your internship you will work with different teams and stakeholders, this is why you must be able to work in teams but also independently. We also expect creativity from you. You do not believe in ‘inside the box/outside the box thinking’ when coming up with recommendations– as far as you’re concerned, there is no box. You are proactive, have a hands-on mentality and your organization and planning skills are on point.

This is your future internship, because you:

  • Bachelor / Master student in e.g. Communication, Marketing or Business Management;
  • Available to start in september* fulltime for 5-7 months;
  • Very digital savvy: You have experience with MS Office, with Adobe (e.g. InDesign/Photoshop) programs and you are experienced in O365 tooling (MS Teams and SharePoint in particular)
  • Keen to learn how to use and maintain new software/apps (ex. AwardForce & Poppulo);
  • Fluent in English (both verbal and written);
  • Strong attention to details and analytical skills (calculate NPS scores with SPSS/Obsession analytics)

* It is possible that the start date will be postponed if it is not yet possible to work at the Aegon office.

What will you be getting?

  • Freedom to come up with new ideas and have your own responsibilities;
  • Focus on good cooperation and working ambiance, rather than on status or hierarchy;
  • Opportunity to work on global projects for a large multinational company;
  • Working closely with a variety of disciplines on diverse tasks;
  • Enthusiastic and supportive colleagues who can develop you and help you achieve your own goals while contributing to our team goals and objectives;
  • Competitive internship compensation.

Important note:

It is required to be enrolled at a university to take part in this internship. Next to that you will need a Dutch BSN-number and Dutch bank account. If you are a non-EU/EER student, you will need a valid residence permit stating that you may work ('arbeid vrij toegestaan'). Applications that do not fulfil this criteria cannot be taken into consideration.

Enthusiastic? Apply!
